Nothing needs to replace the belt bag (which is almost fully past its prime). For most of modern history, we have just used "bags". There are a few moments in recent history where some dumb trend bag took over: 1990 fanny packs, 1994 mini backpacks, and now recently belt bags. The rest of the time, we just used bags. Some people like crossbody, some like totes, some like clutches and some like satchels. But those are all pretty standard, classic bag shapes where each has always been "popular" and available. The stylings have changed over the years. But they're all just bags. Now that belt bags are over and done, we'll go back to just having bags again.
For most of modern history we weren’t carrying palm-sized computers with us everywhere.
Our palm sized computers also fit in ..... regular bags. Small ones, medium sized ones and big ones.
Sure. But they aren’t conveniently strapped across your chest for easy access. Unless they start making large phone sized pockets in women’s clothing, I don’t see this as a trend with a short shelf-life.
I have large breasts. These things look AWFUL on me. The straps are too short to fit below my breasts. It's so bizarre.
The straps should be adjustable, keep looking. That said a cross body will emphasize your breasts, in case that bothers you.
No, it's fine and I have several cross body bags that I like. It's just that belt bags are meant to be worn up high but I find that super uncomfortable (but like the idea of them hugging the body).
