How about Einstein, Wheaton or Kennedy? Why aren't THEY on your list?
Because she wants a good education for her kids.
This is what I am referring to. There is also another post simply stating that these schools suck. Explain to me how this is not offensive to someone who chooses to send their kids to one of these three schools. And yes I have first hand experience with Einstein and I think my kids are getting a great education there. I am sorry that the OP had a bad experience with the area and she is of course free to choose to live wherever she wants. The whole point of my post was that the debate was getting a little heated and I wanted people to understand why some posters might feel defensive.
Yes. But the 8:38 "these schools suck" post came AFTER the pot-stirring 8:24 "no one ever talks about race, be honest" and the 8:33 "admit it, you're afraid of Blacks and Hispanics" post. So you don't get a pass on being a pot-stirring asshole.
But all of these posts came AFTER the "because she wants a good education for her kids" comment on the first page of the thread. That is what started the rude commentary. Then again, the OP didn't ask about the DCC schools--she asked about specific schools and people have turned the thread into a mud-slinging debate that has nothing to do with what the OP asked. I am a DCC parent and I agree that a lot of the comments here are offensive to both sides (classifying the DCC parents as not caring about their kids is uncalled for but so is calling a Whitman parent a racist because of where they live). Can't we just call a truce on this? I feel like every thread about Montgomery County (whether in this forum on the Real Estate forum) always reverts back to this issue and its getting tired on both sides.
Amen sister!!..... wait, was that offensive to anyone's religious beliefs? All I wanted was feedback, pros/cons on two schools. Cannot even believe, but then again yes I can believe, that I have been called racist and elitist! Just because I want the best for my children (the definition of being a good parent FWIW) does not mean that I hate all races that are not white, or that I'm afraid of poor people!! where in the hell did that come from? I happen to be first generation American, parents were EXTREMELY poor immigrants but worked hard so we could get the hell out of Langley Park, and later Silver Spring. Silver Spring is big, so maybe the area we lived in left much to be desired - but that is the SS that I know. sorry folks.
