Wondering if it is because I haven't seen any other state with it but saw a MAGA Loving puerto rican woman display it on her instagram.
I always laugh when I see those on foreign cars, especially British ones. Those people have no concept what the Gadsden flag actually means. And all MAGA boosters hate America and all that it stands for. They’re all traitors. Wasn’t aware there were any MAGA in Puerto Rico. Puerto Rican support for Biden over Trump is huge.
Unlike some of you I do know a thing or two about American history, warts and all. And while I have no love for Turnip and many of his voters, the irony is that their stances are much closer to the original American dedication to liberty. Muh freedom is actually about you know, freedom. People will certainly disagree over extent of freedom and liberty. For some the freedom to abort babies is very important, for others it's a profoundly moral issue because all fetuses are future human lives. But outside abortion, it's hard to see the Democrats as more pro-America than Turnip's followers. Modern Democrats are much closer to the European social democratic model than the traditional liberal democracy of the United States, which, by the way, requires broad and open support for things like freedom of press, freedom of assembly, freedom of speech, the right to own guns, transparency, and rejection of a nanny state where unelected bureaucrats dictate policy. The modern Democratic party has substantially embraced restrictions on freedoms in the name of public safety, aka the combating disinformation campaigns and policies (despite that a lot of what was called disinformation turned out to be true, har har). And the COVID restrictions, and the refusal to question CDC despite that they were often contradictory and even wrong. Anyone who spends time in red areas versus blue areas knows that rainbow and BLM flags outnumber American flags in blue cities by a staggering amount whereas the reverse is true in Magaland. We know who the new gods are for the Democrats and it's not the stars and stripes. I don't have a particular love for Turnip, as already mentioned, but nor do I find the Democrats particularly admirable and in many ways, they are much worse. But I am sympathetic to the don't tread on me if it means I just want to be left alone from busybodies.
It's hard to take this seriously when, at the time, liberty only applied to certain demographics. I suppose what you say is true though. Conservatives want to go back to how things were way back then for those privileged demographics.
