Why?  I do it sometimes with my daughter's softball practice.  I sit far back, not in the bleachers behind home plate.  I just love watching her do something that brings her joy.

This.  DC suffered from prettt bad depression and anxiety and their rec sport was the only thing that gave them joy and relief.  It was a tough 1 year or so.  Watching her practice her sport and enjoy it was so rewarding for me.  I needed to see a glimmer of home for her.  Granted it was about 4 hours a week spread out over 2 days but so worth it for me to watch.  [/quote]

DD has so much pressure with school, navigating middle school social settings, and other ECs like band, that watching her have fun with some kids playing softball also brings me joy.
