When this happens?? Must be rare. Its 4 days a week for me. I can't burn 2 hours doing nothing most weekdays. We clearly have different lives.
Who does nothing. I get a ton done. Work, errands, phone calls, this is time management 101.
I was referring to posters who “try new restaurants and coffee shops alone” or sit and watch their kid the whole time every practice.
The sitting and watching practice thing is so bizarre to me. Creeps me out a little.
Why? I do it sometimes with my daughter's softball practice. I sit far back, not in the bleachers behind home plate. I just love watching her do something that brings her joy. It's the same as when I sit in the living room and listen to her practice piano.
This. DC suffered from prettt bad depression and anxiety and their rec sport was the only thing that gave them joy and relief. It was a tough 1 year or so. Watching her practice her sport and enjoy it was so rewarding for me. I needed to see a glimmer of home for her. Granted it was about 4 hours a week spread out over 2 days but so worth it for me to watch.
+100 DD has so much pressure with school, navigating middle school social settings, and other ECs like band, that watching her have fun with some kids playing softball also brings me joy. I don't see what could possibly be creepy about that?
