I'm a runner so I get runs in, if a practice is 20 mins or so away; closer I'd probably just drive home. It's been a great way to run in different places. I've gone for bike rides and walks too. Baseball practices have been great for this, or the hour before a game when they want the kids there early. Also winter swim meets. Not that I feel guilty for taking time for myself to exercise but it's kind of extra time that is found b/c otherwise I'd be driving back and forth anyway. Otherwise, sometimes do a grocery run, or run some other sorts of errands.
I'm not much of a runner, but I do that sometimes as well. Or, even better, I'll go to a quiet part of the park(usually works best when its a location that has multiple fields), and bring some dumbells/kettlebells and get a workout in there. Box jumps into a picnic table bench. Pull ups on monkey bars. And some dumbells for squats, etc. It's pretty easy to get a good workout in
