With there being 4a, 5a, and 6a in Virginia (and Loudoun)- I would say no, HS division doesn't matter. I have no stats to back this up, but I would say Riverside (5) and Dominion (4) are sending more kids in the past few years then many 6 schools in Loco or FFX.

They have more of an opportunity to be "seen" at club then at HS, as the HS and college season overlap. The HC at a college is not going to leave his team and travel to LoCo to look at a kid in HS mid-season. Doubtful they are just going to come across your kid at a recruiting event either. You need to let them know you are out there and where you will be and then they will take a look, if they have time. Maybe your kid plays #1 attack and they are really there to look at the top 10 D-Poles and their Freshman class had 5 top tier attackmen, your #1 attack moves down the priority list. Your needs are not their needs! However, if your kid is the next LeBron of lacrosse, they might. I would suspect that if he was, they would already know that though. [/quote]

I am worried about Loudoun Lacrosse in a few more years.  It seems that fewer kids are playing lacrosse or trying it out which means less competition.  Unless you are in the area of a few schools.[/quote]

I believe this is a fair observation and share the same concern. Loudoun is a soccer first county so with lacrosse and soccer being Spring sports it’s tough to field full and consistent lacrosse teams.

The 2022-23 classes in Loudoun were the last really strong ones on the girls side. Riverside had been dominant in previous years and last season overachieved when they upset the #1 seed in the region to make the state tournament. Dominion has been dominant in 4A winning multiple state championships. Both schools will come back to the pack this year.

There are some very talented individual players in the county, but in general the talent will be down and teams will be no where near as competitive as the Riverside and Dominion teams of the past.

Hopefully Loudoun can rebuild the youth programs on the girls side. It all starts here.[/quote]

Very few if any kids choosing to play soccer over lacrosse. They are a different set of kids. The issue is that they open new HS’s every year and split the teams up. Twice as many HS programs than just 8 years ago plus add PVI to the mix. [/quote]
