Yes but you also can’t do the interview upon arrival until your application has been approved - the interview upon arrival is instead of scheduling an interview at another time. It is not a replacement for the entire process. [/quote]

Seemingly about 60-65% of people get conditionally approved very quickly - within 10 days or so. For the rest it can be an interminable wait sometimes 6 months plus. Kids do seem to be more likely to be in the shorter group- maybe 75%, but not always.

There is no rhyme or reason as to which group you will be in- people on Flyertalk have tried to figure out patterns for years but there aren't any. Some people with federal security clearance get the quick approval, others not. Sometimes a couple that travels together (and thus has the exact same travel patterns) will have one partner getting quick approval, and the other being in the long wait group. There is no way to tell which one you will be in, unfortunately.[/quote]
