We have a similar disfunctional childhood family.  We get each others quirks and fear of commitment and closeness to another human being.  Since I am older and probably because I am a woman, I have dealt with my issues in more healthier ways than him.  I also have learned from my mistakes and I can see he is heading for similar mistakes.  He is just one life crisis away from a train wreck which is waiting to happen.  I wish I could explain more to him that life isn't so black and white and you have to make your own happiness.  Sometimes happiness if found in forgiveness.  Sometimes happiness is found in changing your perspective.[/quote]
