I've traveled the world, with kids and husband, on my own and with friends. I ALWAYS take a back pack. Sometimes, I decide to take a different route. Hop on a train and go to a different city. I carry just enough to get by for a few days wherever I end up. I guess if you stay only in large cities, at high end hotels and cab to your location and back without really viewing your locations, you can get by with pesto and a battery.
I'm not sure what this was supposed to say, but I like the idea that pesto is a significant need.
I'm pretty sure it was supposed to say Pepto, which really doesn't make it any better.
Pesto is a significant improvement over Pepto! This thread is hilarious  Personally, I've never liked hand-held purses or cross body bags, they either hijack one of my hands, or bump across my body in a way I don't like. My winter shoulder bag is too heavy in the heat, so lately I've been going out with a very small, lightweight backpack. It's a cheery bright yellow Petit Bateau that my parents got as a gift after a purchase in one of their stores. I love it. There are plenty of smaller backpacks that are quite sleek and nice-looking, OP. That way you can wear cute clothes and not be married to the lumberjack look!
