Langley had many freshman last school year whose parents “pupil placed” them at Langley after they didn’t get into TJ. (Ie - place them due to Russian) Not surprising that these are the same kids who got in as sophomores. The admissions office at TJ don’t advertise the sophomore process. So it has to be a very motivated parent in order to jump through the hoops to get admitted.
I don't get what you mean here . My understanding is the sophomore process is more holistic, done by TJ teachers instead of the FCPS "admins", and requires 3 teacher recommendations, optional some objective testing (PSAT/SAT). It has to be a motivated and academically sound kid to make it thru the more "rigorous" selection process. Am i incorrect in this assumption?
