I hear the same thing from my suburban friends, it wasn't really a policy, just a slogan. No, DC never defunded police.  A lot of police quit though, and yes MPD is understaffed.  They are demoralized because when they catch criminals, then the criminals aren't charged.  MPD is not the issue, look higher up.  [/quote]
