Cannabis is legal - its hilarious seeing you all cry about it :P
I personally know a wonderful 19 year old whose life and family have been entirely, heartbreakingly derailed by thc induced psychosis-i assure you, it’s not hilarious.
THIS. My 20 yr DS has been hospitalized twice for cannabis induced psychosis. He struggles with anxiety and thought it would make him feel better. The first time was smoking, the second an 1/4 of gummi. And before you blame it on us parents, we have been very involved and provide support. Kids are going to do stupid things. We all did growing up. The difference is the pot is 1000x stronger than when we were kids. Like most laws meant to address social problems, this has just created more. I hate it.
They said this when I was a kid in the 1980s, too. What were people smoking before the 1980s? Ditchweed? Not to minimize your son's experiences. People definitely self-medicate, and in my anecdotal experience, the self-medication often causes its own problems. I would hope that, with cannabis being legal and regulated, there would at least be more certainty about what you're getting, when you get it.
