Is it really that common? Like Heather or Jennifer were in the 70s? At least a couple of each in each grade at my tiny school. If so, I’ve just never encountered it that much for some reason. I only know one Isabella (my niece; never goes by Bella), who is in her 30s and Italian. And one Bella, who is 12. [/quote]

I have a close friend who named her daughter Isabelle and while I thought it was beautiful, I internally wondered if she'd find it was super common (I have a really common name so that's something I thought about). But -- nope! She's met a handful of other Isabelles/Isabellas in her life, but not that many. And there are actually a few different nicknames associated with it (Isa, Izzy, Belle/Bella) so it's not the big a deal.

Isa is my favorite nn for Isabelle/a. I think it sounds modern and is very versatile.[/quote]
