Is there any movement to bring public pools back to Arlington or Alexandria, rather than continuing this private pool culture?
Tax private pools and use the $ to build a public pool.
No. Arlington has public pools, they are not outdoors. If we don’t have land to build new schools, where do you suggest we put the pool?
Upton Hill is outdoors. The Nova parks pool pass is a great deal. When my kids were in preschool and I was SAHM we made a summer adventure of visiting all the Nova parks pools covered by the pass. Cameron Run is a favorite and kind of expensive if you just buy the day pass. After a few years of that a friend encouraged us to join Knights of Columbus for the summer (where she went) and we tried that but my kids missed the fun play features, slides, etc. at the Nova waterparks. And the friend who'd encouraged us to do KoC rarely was able to coordinate schedules to meet up there. So went back to our annual pass. https://www.novaparks.com/waterparks
