Kids at both Tech and JMU who don’t drink but whose friends do. Pretty similar level of partying. Lots of it. And toured UVA this spring on a Saturday morning (spring game). Parties were on by noon. And looked fun, bands, etc.
Was this at the frat houses?
if you are at UVA on a game day, there will absolutely be "darties" at the frats starting at 11 AM on Saturday, some absolutely with bands.
I've had two kids at UVA and neither has mentioned that term. Both were serious students and not into Greek. Neither knew it. so I googled it. I guess it's now universal for daytime party. Oh, ok.
Haha guess they do not frequent Rugby rd on a Saturday afternoon. Just goes to show that not everyone has the same cookie cutter experience at UVA. There is a place for everyone from the partiers to the non and every one in between.
Sorry, but that is not true. UVA absolutely does not have a place for everyone. It is one of least friendly schools in the state, and a lot of kids can't fit in there.
If you say so? I was responding to the PP who said she has had two UVA students and neither knew anything about darties, so that obviously means they never did anything with the Greek life side of things at UVA. Do you have a specific story to tell as to why you consider it "one of the least friendly schools in the state"? I have two kids there now, both very different, and they love it and have made some amazing friends.
