How, exactly would progressive Christians effectively "push back" against evangelicals?  They consider us misguided heathens and wouldn't listen to us any more than they would listen to Muslims.  We are on opposite sides of the culture wars and see each other as enemies.  If you paint all Christians with the same brush, that's your misunderstanding and you'd be well served by educating yourself.[/quote]

A theocracy is infiltrating our legislature, our laws, our medical  care, and and our schools. It's becoming very hard to tell what kind of Christian is what. Right now, Christianity is taking over and most everyone isn't going to stop to ask what kind you might be. Are you out there fighting this? If not- why not. If you are,  what are you doing to stop it?[/quote]
