My mom is 87 an lives independently within a senior living community. She was issued a “lanyard” device to wear around her neck, similar to the “the I’ve fallen and I can’t get up” most of us know of. What about installing pull cords in the bathroom-one by the toilet and the in a shower and maybe another above her bed?
Get her to wear an Apple watch all the time. The phone detects if she falls and can call you or 911 if she doesn't push the button or tell it that she's OK. Tell her never to take it off, except when bathing. It's a game changer for my elderly relative. She fell while gardening, and it called her son, who came immediately. She didn't need an ambulance, but if he hadn't been available, it would have called an ambulance for her. I hate many things about Apple and about tech, but this is a huge help for elderly people.
