The problem is anything Janis/Parent Coalition touches is tainted. The bitterness, the anger is so unfortunate. Wish she would put that energy toward improving the school system, rather than pointing fingers
+1. Has anyone from the coalition ever run for a seat on the BOE themselves?
At least one person did, in 2010, but they didn't win. https://msa.maryland.gov/msa/mdmanual/36loc/mo/elect/primary/mo2010p.html#education
But they got rid of Jerry Weast.
No, they didn't. They [singular they] sure did hate him, though - just like they hated the next one (Damn You Joshua Starr), and the next one (Jack Smith), and the next one (Monifa McKnight). And Larry Bowers too, if you count him.
They did. They exposed the Pearson trip to Australia that Weast and his wife took after Weast turned over MCPS curriculum to Pearson. Weast's Pearson trip got him canned. The Parents' Coalition didn't force Weast to take a gift from a no-bid vendor. He did that all on his own. His actions got him canned.
 He wasn't "canned," he retired. By indication from Durso and his colleagues, only President Pat O'Neill would vote to renew Weast's contract for a fourth term.
