OP here. Wow, some crazy responses. Sorry I didn’t have time to respond. I was working all day! No, I do not think I have an eating disorder whatsoever. I’m not strictly controlling my food until evening, it just works out that way for me. I’m busy! I don’t work at home, so I don’t have much time to eat! And I’m sincerely not that hungry in the morning! Here’s what a day of eating looks like for me: Morning: black coffee when I wake up (5am), 1 hard boiled egg after a morning workout (this morning was a 4 mile run) Lunch: 11am (for me this was like a breakfast - oatmeal with granola, apples, and cinnamon) Sometimes I’ll have a small snack at work if someone brings in some treats… sometimes I don’t. Get home: 4:30-5pm: eat dinner, and whatever I feel like I need to replenish my caloric needs. Dinner, dessert, snack, whatever. I don’t really think about it and don’t count calories. I eat plenty, but I don’t overeat. I feel satiated, but not sick. If you want to call that a “binge” then whatever, fine by me. My way of eating just works out this way based on my schedule, and when I get hungry. I’m not overweight or underweight, but strong, athletic, happy, and gonna have a bunch of skittles after I eat my big hearty bowl of lentil soup for dinner.
What did you do before to gain the weight? How does your routine differ now than before?
The biggest differences are: - I do regular exercise that challenges me. Not just walking, but cardio, lift weights that make me wince as the reps build. I exercise 5-6 days a week presently. - Eat out no more than 1 meal per week. Yes I make exceptions sometimes, but I would say I don't eat more than 20-25 meals out in a year, total - Because I exercise most mornings, it makes me much less susceptible to overeating at night. I eat plenty and get full, but I'm not stuffed. I eat ALL the things and have never cut out anything (carbs, cake, chips.. I eat it all, just not excessively)
Wait I realize I didn't answer fully. I was just always chubby. I never played sports, I didn't exercise beyond walking. I ate out more, ate too much generally speaking. I also had to untangle a bunch of childhood shit, which I think a lot of obese (or formerly obese) people need to do. Or any of us, really.
What kind of childhood issues did you have to deal with?
