Atlanta families are making the same calculation with respect to UGA that Northern Virginia families make about UVA - it's got great bang for the buck. Why go out of state when you have an excellent, affordable university in your state? [/quote]

Fair enough. I just thought it was selective, and hearing that 85% number suggested it's not. Would you be happy if your private school bragged about 100% college attendance rate, then you learned 60% of those went to community college?[/quote]
I don't base my happiness off of what colleges my child's peers go to. Is *my* child attending a college that they like and is a good fit for them? Did their school prepare them to do well? That's what matters to me. Why would I care about what colleges their peers go to? I am not following your logic.

(I mean, obviously I care in the sense that I hope my kid's peers go to a college that they enjoy and that they are happy with. Whether that's UGA, a community college, or somewhere else...doesn't matter to me. Why would it?!)[/quote]
