Amherst sucks up all the resources to the detriment of Lowell, Boston, and Dartmouth [/quote] Well, Whitey Bulger's brother was the czar of all the UMASS schools for a number of years and actually turned UMASS Boston into what it is today, which is much more than a commuter school. Dartmouth now has a law school, which is something since MA was one of the only states without a state funded law school well into the 2000s. Lowell is a top engineering school, pumping out engineering degrees for those who couldn't access Amherst. He didn't do too badly, really.[/quote]
