No. Persistent high inflation is what's leading us to a recession. Political brinkmanship over the debt ceiling would hurt Republicans just as bad as Democrats. There's a lot of political posturing going on right now, but it's in no one's best political interests to let the country default.[/quote]

And why do we have high inflation?

Because Biden got people back to work and the ensuing economic spark was inflationary. Without Trump's disasterous handling of COVID, there wouldn't have been a need to repair the economy and get people back to work. But like his GOP predecessors, Trump left the country in an economic disaster that the democrats were once again charged with fixing.

Cause => effect.

You cannot just blame Biden for high inflation unless you traceback WHY there was inflation. I guess you prefer 10% unemployment and a cratering GDP instead?[/quote]
