[/quote] I can’t believe anyone can argue that schools should not teach controversial topics. To that pp, all of the above, and please get some perspective. Slavery was once a “controversial issue”. As was the slaughter of native Americans, the repression of women’s right to vote, the passage of the equal rights amendment, the Americans with disability act. Apartheid, genocide in Rwanda, the cultural Revolution of Iran - all were controversial topics. The reason we got rid of slavers and gave women the right to vote is because young people learned about these topics and made the change. [/quote]
