OP here.  I feel you.  I’ve been doing a slightly different field recently than I’m applying to and my network in the field I’m applying to is at least a decade old so I didn’t real feel right asking them for recommendations and job opportunities.  I’m so glad my barrage of cold applications paid off, although we’ll see how it goes — of my three potential offers, only one is the job/field I actually want; the other two are stepping stones in that direction.  So here’s hoping I get that last offer.  😬  I hope you get some (positive!) responses soon, PP, and don’t have to go through application limbo again any time soon.[/quote]
