i beg to differ. I’m liberal and think he is spot on. he seems conservative to super progressives. and many people here are super progressive.  those folks think anyone who doesn’t agree with them is a Trump supporter.  It isn’t true and [b]it’s not fair that the progressives completely shut out regular liberals.[/b] policy made in an echo chamber is almost always bad policy.   and that is why MoCo is in decline. not because progressive policies are bad, but because they aren’t pragmatic.   tempering them a bit with regular liberal (or gasp, moderate) input would make things much more successful. I do not obsess about Jason, but from what I've seen, most of the candidates Jason supports lose. That, if nothing else, will tell you that he doesn't represent Montgomery County. Not to mention the hubris of setting yourself up to represent Montgomery County in the first place. [/quote]

The whole past four years' worth of bills have been virtue signaling without trying to figure out how things could be operationalized.

At the very foundation is racial equity.  They are trying to close gaps with really poor policy that actually makes things worse for people of color, instead of taking more measured approaches that might not close the equity gap, but would actually make things better for people of color.   [b]But anyone who asks them to slow down a bit is accused of being racist. [/b]   So everybody suffers, including the populations the politicians purport to care about.

No, but people who say racist things are often accused of saying racist things. Not to mention that this isn't anyone shutting anyone out. When I express an opinion about an opinion you expressed, I'm not shutting you out. Just like you're not shutting me out when you express an opinion about an opinion I expressed. If you expect to be able to express an opinion and get only agreement as a response - well, I don't know what to say.

It’s a name and the only reason a certain small group are bitter about it is that it has quickly risen in popularity and following.

As far as “Moderate” goes, my views would be consider left of center in the vast majority of the US.

Middle of the road voices are extremely needed especially when you have people like the person in this thread trying to hijack any conversation into a personal attack (on me or others) because they can’t handle actually debating and discussing the issues.

So they have turned this thread from the corruption of creating a new job just for one specific person that makes $214k a year (including benefits) to do a job that seems part time or maybe a 10 hour a week job into a question of what I named my blog 3 years ago. That’s exactly the type of thing that’s wrong with this county… people that can’t discuss an issue but would rather use ad hominem attacks to distract. Don’t fall for it.

Email you council members to oppose this new position being created through cronyism today!

PS - the candidates I picked for the most part did better than expected and the thousands who visited my website on Election Day and during mail in voting was a great indicator of how many people support common sense moderate candidates.

And yes it is a news blog. A blog is a type of website that includes opinions. The topic of my blog is news. And I have many contributors besides myself and working to increase that as our reach grows.
