Congratulations to Frost. TPMS is not the same after they introduced the Magnet Lottery.
The 80% lottery isn't going to do them any favors, but the current 8th grade was selected before the pandemic before the lottery.
The admission criteria for the current 8th grade was already loosened with no cogat test
NO IT WASN’T!!!! Can you stop saying this, please. Current 8th graders took the Cogat in Fall 2019 for admission in 2020.
Yes, the county eliminated the CogAT in 2020 because its owner wouldn't let them administer it online at the height of the pandemic. Although they could've reinstated it since then, finding out what they've learned over the past few years will be interesting. Perhaps, they can get by without it. It's not like there aren't enough standardized tests already. I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't reveal anything new. However, reinstating teacher recs wouldn't be such a bad thing...
No, the current 8 graders took the Cogat in fall 2019 when schools were still open and Covid wasn’t even in the area. The results came out late winter/early spring of 2020. The current 7th and 6th graders did not take a cogat test.
