PP here.  You are right, deep down I know I couldn't handle diapers and nap time again, and I would not want to be chasing around a toddler at my age.  I just have nostalgia for their sweet faces and much better attitudes back then!  Teen grumpiness, homework battles, looming college costs...I know those would all come eventually with another baby![/quote]

It absolutely can and does happen to many mid 4Os women without IVF. One of my grandmothers had her last baby (my dad) at age 45 totally unexpected pregnancy, in the 1940s when there was no IVF. My husband’s great grandmother had her last baby at age 47 and that was in the 1930s!! And I know lots of women in their 40s now who have had babies with and without IVF/assistance.[/quote]
