There were 2 deaths on the same day from the same school in Falls Church. Overdose or suicide - I don't know. But I'm surprised it didn't make the news or the school didn't send anything out. Both a spate of suicides and a string of overdoses should cause a community to talk about it. Never heard from the school or anything. They were just gone. One of the obits is here: https://www.legacy.com/us/obituaries/name/malcolm-kent-obituary?id=39392528
Agree. Talk in healthy ways and to recognize and find solutions to a problem. When my HS classmate died, the school acknowledge it. People attended the services. Ditto when my cousin died at another school (drug and alcohol related) while we were both in HS. No wonder many kids today feel like no one at school cares. My son witnessed a student being wheeled out of school on a gurney. Many of the kids assume that was another drug related incident (don’t know about that one). No announcement about what happened to that kid. It seems pretty dystopian.
