I was one of the people who soccer at this kind of thinking.

All states are purple. Most universities that people talk about here are in blue or blue violet communities. Gainesville is not hell on earth. Plenty of conservative Republican-dominated states and even conservative Republican-dominated boards of university trustees have found ways to nurture great universities and university cities that respect all sorts of points of view.

But, if DeSantis is really going to go in and change the state universities in an arbitrary way, without facing significant judicial constraints, then sending a kid to a state university in a place like that would be troubling. How can you trust the university to keep anything the same or make good on any promises if a governor is just going to go in and change things in a random way?[/quote]

We are talking about the modern GOP meaning they are coming for women.

If they take power you think women in Florida are going to college?

How stupid can you be? Wake the hell up ladies this is not a far reach. DeSantis is preparing for all kinds of stuff. He does at min 10 executive orders a day. He is replacing everyone he can with heinous humans. He will change the Florida constitution.

Seriously, not to mention science and evolution you think that will be taught? Montana is already floating that crap.

NO Florida Colleges are not safe, they will not be centers of learning. They will be shitholes of bible thumping nonsense.

I went to UF in the 1980's it was not progressive then, it has come a very long way. With Ben Sasse at the helm and DeSantis in office UF will. be nothing but crap.[/quote]
