DeSantis is very popular in the south.  He is less focused on trans and books than is portrayed in left wing media. He is much more focused on business and immigration, which makes him popular. Most people just dont think often about trans issues outside of sports, so its not a huge winning political issue like immigration.

My mom is a conservative in FL and really dislikes DeSantis. She wants Tim Scott. But Tim Scott is never on the national scene. At least DeSantis lets us see him and evaluate him.  [/quote]
