While aps admin and the school board claim to have raised teachers salaries by large amounts it’s not true for most people.

I got a small pay bump yes. But I also got moved down on the salary scale. So a teacher with 5 years experience at APS is not at a “step E” on the pay scale.

That teacher is at a “step c”. Teachers have complained to the school board and admin who seem completely uninterested in fixing it.

Many teachers left last year because of this change. Many colleagues and I are considering leaving this year. We will make more in FCPS.

The APS parent community needs to stand up and say something or the teacher exitus will be worse at the end of this school year.
