Eugenics. Most people who claim they don’t support it would absolutely terminate. The eugenic attitude is still alive and well.
All abortion is "eugenics" to force birth fundamentalist fanatics. They have no ability to discern nuances based on specific circumstances.
Don’t be obtuse. Selectively aborting a fetus because you think it doesn’t have arms or legs and this it’s life isn’t worth living. It absolutely is eugenics. Like the annoying saying goes: it is what it is. Own it.
Eugenics was about stripping women of their autonomy by sterilizing them without consent. Eugenics was the system against women (and men) who were deemed feebleminded; people didn't want them to reproduce because they were considered unfit for society. There is nothing remotely similar in this, even if you personally don't approve of a women's right to choose.
NP. That’s part of what eugenics was about… but look into the child euthanasia program by the Nazis… they literally called certain babies and children “life unworthy of life” and systematically murdered them. This was all part of the goal to “improve” the human race. If you think eugenics is separate from that, I don’t know what to tell you. Not all abortions are eugenics, of course, because many (most?) embryos/fetuses terminated are healthy.
