It's about more than drugs. But let's be honest - that has a lot to do with it. They're incredible musicians, and decent songwriters. They don't sing well live (and the studio vocals are unremarkable). Trey loves himself and his solos are 10-20x longer than they should be.

I think that says more about their fans than the band itself.

I wonder how many times after a show they’ve said to themselves “I can’t believe they cheered for that crap! I was so f#cked i could barely play.”
