Yorktown lost to a team of freshman today, 6-32. You know what that tells the rest of us - Yorktown has no defense this year.
You are a moron. Yorktown lost to Capital Blue 2026, #16 ranked 2026 club team in the country. Besides the fact they are super-talented, they practice and play together year around, and play against the top club teams in the country. Yorktown is a high school team. They play together in the spring and here and there in the fall and winter with no practices outside of optional green days and the spring season. They do not all play for the same clubs, and some do not even play club lacrosse. Also, for the St James winter league only about a third of the actual spring team is playing, and some were brought up from JV to have enough players to have 2 or 3 subs. So yes, Capital put on a clinic. They were awesome, as they should be. But as others have said above, ad nauseum, this is an indoor, small field 7v7 league with no draws taken, etc. It does not translate to full field and full team. To imply (or actually outright say in your post) "Yorktown has no defense this year." based on this game is just ignorant and asinine. None of Yorktown's starting defenders or middies from last spring were even there. It's more accurate to say, a skeleton crew from Yorktown Varsity and JV lost handily to one of the top 2026 club teams in the nation in small-sided indoor play.
