The whole trying to curb climate change is moronic. First of all, we just can't. It's likely too late and if it isn't, our lifestyles make it impossible. NO WAY any of us gives up our creature comforts and conveniences. No way. Rich, poor, it's human nature to life as well as we can and that involves polluting the earth. Lawns, transportation, electricity, food, we just don't live like we used to and there's too many people around that the earth will suffer. I wish we would instead put all the money and energy into figuring how to live assuming that we only have 5-10 years globally to be outside 100% of the year. I wish we would take the energy of trying to pass legislation in this country into partnering with the brightest minds globally on how to save us all. We have to assume that we are all dead more or less with enough time so why not accept the inevitable and work on solutions to mitigate/adapt? While it's true that perhaps we don't end up roasting but freezing, we still have to account for future generations surviving outdoors. People need to accept we're not going to make it to 2030 or 2100. We will hopefully make it to 2025 before the kids stop going out to play outdoors in July here. The temps are so hot, the humidity is so thick, can't even breath on some days! Floods, storms, temperatures, I really don't think it's going to be another 50 years. I say 5-10, we are all globally in the same boat.
Well said. Has anyone noticed that there's a LOT of "this is a false alarm" propaganda being put out at an increasing rate, while warnings are increasingly minimized? I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but wow.
