Since being on Wegovy and losing weight, I’ve been taken off my blood pressure and cholesterol medications. Now I take 1 medication instead of 2. All 3 are considered life time medications.
Congratulations!! That is great news!
That is great! My SIL lost the weight without the drugs and now she doesn't have to take any meds. The end goal is a healthier you. Glad you are seeing results.
The odds are overwhelmingly against her maintaining the loss lifelong. Don’t be surprised if she ends up on a GLP1 drug of one stripe or another.
Anything is possible, but she has kept it off for over 7 years. Her doctor told her she was on track to becoming diabetic and that was what she needed to make lifestyle changes and lose the weight.
Anything is possible. What I’m telling you is probable.
Knowing my SIL she wouldn't want to take weekly injections for life so hopefully she can continue with the success she has had without drugs for the last 7 years. Glad there is something to help if she decides she can't stick to the lifestyle changes. Maybe she is one of the mysterious few who can reduce calories and exercise to prevent obesity.
Yes, it does happen, although it’s rare. If she is willing to neurotically count calories forever, that is known to make her likelihood of success greater. But on a population level, even those who were able to do it for years tend to stop being able or willing to maintain the incredibly strict calorie tracking necessary to maintain major weight loss and eventually regain. Even after many years of maintaining.
