The movie is a bit of a mess (it’s Gatsby Baz Luhrman, not Strictly Ballroom Baz Luhrman— desperately needs an editor), but Butler is incredibly dynamic and especially nails all the performance scenes. It did not feel like an impersonation to me. I think Butler himself is kind of full of himself and this level of success this young will make him insufferable as a person. But he’s a really charismatic person combined with real acting chops.[/quote]
