The "American" school, which is private, charges about $35k/year which is a huge sum there (they pay their full-time live-in maid $300/month by comparison). The US gov't pays for all the kids to go to that school.[/quote] The difference is they in fact are expats, sometimes hardship positions. By contrast, these folk in DMV have made lives here at no tax and no benefit to anyone but themselves.[/quote]
