I’m thinking Colette’s PR team put the press on him without his knowledge. You really think he wanted to be photographed like this? No friggin way.

My theory is that they’ve been separated for a while, more than six months. He’s now dating someone. Maybe he cheated and that kicked off the separation 6+ months ago, but maybe not.

I don’t think these pictures tell the story of what’s actually happening. What we do know - this is going to be a very ugly divorce. If Colette’s team tipped off the press, that’s basically going nuclear.

It's weird you would assume that Colette's PR team tipped off the press that he'd be at the beach. How would Toni even know? I doubt he rang her up and was like "Babe I know we're separated but I'm gonna go dry hump my new girlfriend at the most crowded beach in Sydney today. We're looking for privacy but wanted to give you a heads up."

Odds are much more likely that either press was following him generally (Toni Colette is one of a handful of very big Hollywood stars in Australia, which has a pretty small, tight culture, this is not out of the realm of possibility) and caught him, or that press got tipped off to a possible upcoming divorce announcment, or marital troubles, and started tailing him.

Him choosing to behave this way in a very public place before they'd announced anything is tacky AF, potentially intentionally inflammatory (though I'm going with just: dumb).

Her releasing a polite divorce announcement immediately afterwards in order to cut short speculation about their marriage and make it clear that they are ending things, on the other hand, is reasonably classy and smart (and might actually spare their kids at least a small amount of embarrassment, though there's only so much she can do).

If you don't want to be photographed making out with your girlfriend while still married to one of the most famous people in the country, you can simply choose to make out with her in a more private location than a crowded beach in the middle of the holiday season. The idea that this is some vicious conspiracy by Colette is insanely generous to this dolt.[/quote]
