Is this still a pandemic thing or do people just not want to spend money? When my youngest was in preschool I don’t ever remember fully outdoor parties in the winter but my youngest has been invited to 2 park parties in December. I am totally fine with outdoor play dates but it would seriously stress me out actually planning a party like this in the winter.
I grew up in a big house in the suburbs. So we had parties at our house and we didn't worry if siblings showed up or people didn't rsvp and we could invite the whole class. Hard to do that in smaller houses and apartments. A park keeps the causal and open feel. Also they money is significant. Those indoor play places cost a lot!
I grew up in a pretty small house until I was 10 and we still had parties at our house. It was fewer people though. We weren’t inviting 25+ kids plus their siblings/parents/grandparents, which everyone seems to think is included these days.
