The shooting happened on October 18. A bullet coming from a heavily wooded area hit Harrigan's parents' house. Harrigan's kids were sleeping in the house at the time. Police and FBI are investigating. There was no announcement at the time this happened.

A week later, on October 25, Harrigan posted an open letter to his opponent, Jeff Jackson, complaining about a bunch of things, including the ad that showed his lake house. (Apparently there is a question as to whether Harrigan actually lives in the congressional district). Letter doesn't mention the shooting although he says he's received death threats and wears a "low-profile bulletproof vest."

When Harrigan's campaign finally told the media about the shooting this week (after the Pelosi attack and Biden's speech) they originally said it was Harrigan's own house, but they corrected that, saying it was a "typo."
