Just skimmed through - has anyone mentioned that she admits to eating things like pop tarts coated with butter? I HATE when women eat like shit just because they are pregnant. Yes, gain weight, go easy on exercise if you are tired, etc., but it's not a license to eat like shit. I have no doubt some of the increase in things like autism, etc., is due to diet and the processed crap people put in their bodies. And no I'm not saying every mom of an autistic child ate crap, just that it might be a trigger in some cases. There was a recent study that linked obesity in moms to increased risk for autism and I'm wondering if it is just the weight, or the fact that most high calorie foods are also processed etc. Just a thought. I like Jessica and I wish her well but she's silly to have gained 80 pounds. She should have held on to Nick - he seems like a good guy.
This probably isn't going on with Jessica, but my pregnant diet sucked and it wasn't because I felt I had license to eat crap. It was because I could barely keep food down for a good portion of my pregnancy and the only things that DID stay down were "bad foods." It was maddening when at one point the doctors told me to eat whatever I wanted because I'd lost so much weight at the beginning and then at the end was told not to eat the only foods that I could force down my throat without gagging because they were too sugary/carb filled and would "make the baby too big." I really just couldn't win. I was trying to just eat anything I could keep down, and I feel like maybe I should have just let them feed me through IVs for 9 months straight since what I was able to eat just wasn't good enough. So, I'm just saying try not to judge some women's pregnancy diets too harshly - you never know what they might be dealing with.
