I went to preschool in the afternoon, and recall turning up there after a well-child check up. The community nurse doing the check-up had a very racist money box - a face that swallowed a coin. My husband says there is no way I can remember being 4 either, but I can draw a map of the layout of the same preschool that I attended mornings from age 4 and never visited afterwards. I recall many details of that class - the umbrella stencil marking my locker, the apples for snack time, the teacher's name, the different play stations, the outdoor swimming pool - really.
