I watched first thing this morning. Ugh, so many emotions. Glad this is the final season. I hope things move quickly now. I want to see a full blown Gilead invasion. Ok, now SPOILERS for those who have watched!!!! - - - - - - - - - - - - $88!! I laughed so damn hard. “I have to pay a fine. Online.” Ha! That was absolutely brilliant. I had to pause to give that scene the full appreciation it deserves. Putnam and the chocolate. Jesus, that made me cringe. I hope we get to see his death on screen. Esther…oh man. Saw it coming, and I have very mixed feelings about Janine. Her character basically went full circle back to where she started and that was disappointing. I wanted to see her do something to rebel on her own, not because another handmaiden dragged her into it. I get that she’s a survivor, but there are many ways to survive. Her character found that one way and that was it. I wish they would’ve done more with her. She’s a phenomenal actress. Finally Luke has the motivation he needed to do something about Hannah other than wait patiently in Canada. Now on to Gilead to kick some ass!
I only watched the first episode - late last night - and...I hated it. Was bummed that I stayed up late for so much nothing. It was literally June, Serena, and Tuello moving from location to location. Too many close ups of June's face. I don't understand or buy the motivation for the bunch of women, including Emily!, to want to go back to Gilead. They aren't special forces, come on. I am sure I will keep watching, but I think we may formally be in shark-jumping territory.
Oh. Meant to add that the only interesting tidbit was Nick's wife and the interactions there that suggest something more is going on than the normal Gilead marriage.
