Because Capitol Hill elementaries are good which means you only need to pay for private for max six years. If you don't get into a good middle and high school which many people do. As someone who has lived in Lyon Village and in DC, a lot of the crime difference is about perception of safety rather than safety. If you compare the crime numbers, that's what they'll tell you. On the other hand, Lyon Village feels suburban and safe and friendly and yes, you have good schools an continuity all the way through. I, personally, have made the calculation and prefer DC, though I like a suburban corner of Northeast which also has very, very low crime.[/quote]
