But is using "internal motivation" to drive your career really all that reasonable? That normally leads to tons of burnout, and you see that in the "caring" professions (teaching, academia, social work, NPO jobs). I'd rather my kids learn early on that all jobs are just jobs, and the main point of them is money and work-life balance. [/quote]
