Where do you normally see people with giant saucers in their ears, multiple piercings, and tattoo sleeves? Where should we go to normalize this? Do you suggest a rave? Lol. Or do you just frequent tattoo parlors with your kids to get out of the bubble.[/quote]

I see people with all of those things on a regular basis.  Where the heck to you live that you don't encounter this?  One of the newer teachers at our elementary school has a septum piercing and many have tattoos.  I work in a STEM field and most of our younger employees (under 30) have piercings or tattoos.  It's really not a big deal.  
If you kid is scared by these things, you have bigger issues to deal with.
