If you're a federal government employee who travels overseas, you get a special passport (usually brown passport for regular employees, black passport for diplomats/Foreign Service). It sounds like POTUS has a special passport, so he would have two valid ones.

And interesting that Trump noticed - and then reported -- that his passport(s) were missing.  I'm assuming he didn't keep them in the boxes of White House material.

Mar a Lago had some kind of office (the "45 Office") and presumably he kept his passports there?  I would think a former president would keep his vital documents like birth certificate, passport etc in a lawyers office or something a bit more secure than Mar a Lago but.... there you go.[/quote]
