500 teachers needed one week before school. FCPS will fill classrooms with unskilled workers who don’t know the subject they are hired to teach and pay them $48K/year instead of paying up for real teachers.
Pay is higher than that. My friend just received offer for job to teach early elementary for 64k.
$64K is not high pay for a teacher with almost 10yrs of experience. Way better to have than teacher resident for $48K who does not need any experience or knowledge of what they will teach in the classroom. The Teacher Resident is the new college degree version of long-term substitute teacher with an associates degree who was hired to teach K-12 classes for $24/hr without any Praxis requirements.
