Every day I'm more and more grateful that I'm not a germophobe. Honestly, I feel like I owe my never caught covid due to the fact that I'm kinda grimey. I touch crosswalk signals, elevator buttons, then eat a snack, don't use hand sanitizer, sure as hell don't wipe stuff down or use disinfectants, and am mask free since being vaccinated. My immune system is good because I understand that it's just like a muscle, and a germ-free world is truly terrible for it. At least 20 people have probably touched that peach - and that's before it gets to the customers. Rinse it off, and you're good to go. WIPING IT WITH RUBBING ALCOHOL? Holy shit, that is truly nuts.
Surrreee, grimey people are immune to covid. Okay you.
You don't understand how immune systems work - how sad for you. Strong immune systems are aided by a fair amount of grime. A sterile, disinfected environment is horrible for your body's defenses.
This is just an urban myth, based on one study of like Swedish farm children or something, that drew conclusions that can't be proven. They have no idea why those kids were healthier than city kids. They assumed it was dirt -- it was probably fresh air, exercise and healthy food.
